Frances Merle Skinner Quinn Bradey, 88, of Wellford, South Carolina, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at her residence. A native of Spartanburg county, Merle was born on March 3, 1927, a daughter of the late John Andrew and Annie Blackwell Skinner. She was first married to the late Robert Allen Quinn and widowed by her second husband, William Henry Bradey.
Mrs. Bradey was a graduate of Gramling High School " Class of 1943", a graduate of Swofford Vocational School and a former employee at Camp Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Gramling United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ann Fryga Sunday School class. She had a love for nature and was an avid bird watcher.
Mrs. Bradey is survived by a daughter, Gayle McCants and her husband Theron of Inman, South Carolina;
grandchildren, Marco M. Vaughan and her husband Brian of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Monica M. Lindsey and her husband Todd of Campobello, South Carolina, Stephanie Quinn Barket and her husband Frank of Michigan and Rebecca Quinn Smith and her husband Marc of North Carolina, Dayle Walker and his wife Lori of Campobello, South Carolina, Steven Walker and his wife Shellie of Hampton, Virginia, Eric Bradey and his wife Lacey of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Christopher Bradey of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Susan Bradey of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Dee Schwind and her husband Tom of Greenville, South Carolina; a step daughter, Jane Walker, of Campobello, South Carolina; a step son, Charles Bradey and his wife Wanda of Inman, South Carolina; twelve great grandchildren, Savannah Barket, Harris Vaughan, Gabe Smith, Caroline Vaughan, Chloe Smith, Jacob Lindsey, Harley Lindsey, Rylan Lindsey, Dylan Walker, Caitlyn Walker, Maddie Walker and John Thomas Bradey.
In addition to her parents and spouses, Mrs. Bradey was predeceased by a son, Steve Quinn; a great grandson, Carson Lindsey; a son-in-law, Jim Murray; a step son, Henry Bradey; a step son-in-law, Don Walker; a brother, Bill Skinner; five sisters, Inez Johnson, Ruth Burnette, Lucile Christman, Estelle Harmon and Betty McMillan.
Funeral Services will be held at Gramling United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 29th, 2016, with Rev Rebecca Wilkins and Rev. Will Brown officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the church social hall. Pallbearers will be: Brian Wright, Gary Wright, Charles Bradey, Todd Lindsey, Brian Vaughan and Roger Harmon. The Ann Fryga Sunday School class will serve as honorary escorts.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to, Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Gramling United Methodist Church Benevolence Fund, PO Box 58, Gramling, SC 29348.
