Mrs. Maxine Estele Sorensen Moore, 95, of 200 Fortress Drive, Inman died Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 at Rosecrest Retirement Community.
Mrs. Moore was born in Sterling, Colorado on December 14, 1913, the daughter of the late Rev. Ralph H. and Stella Alice Gentry Correll. Since the age of fourteen, she was in the service of the Lord, following the lives of her parents serving as a missionary in many different places of the world. After only one piano lesson, she became self taught and played the piano and accordion, as well as participating in other ways at services across the country.
She was the widow of Rev. Edward Christian Sorensen. After her first husband's death, she married Larry Moore who has also predeceased her. She is survived by a son, Larry Sorensen of Inman and a daughter, Sandra Sorensen of Greer; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was also predeceased by one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 8th, conducted by Dr. Eddie G. Burris. Following the service, Mrs. Moore will be buried in St. Petersburg, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to a mission of one's choice.
