Maxie Lee Moon

Maxie Lee Moon, 95, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Lakewood Senior Living in Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

Born in Lexington, North Carolina on December 15, 1930, he was a son of the late Mary Lois (Powell) Moon and Leander Terry Moon and was the husband of the late Shirley (Johnson) Moon.

Maxie was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church and served in the Seekers of Souls Sunday School Class. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from the Unites States Postal Service as a Supervisor at the Inman location.

He is survived by two daughters, Joan Jolley and her husband Don and Jill Settle; four grandchildren, Lindsey Bridges (Justin), Jessica Jolley, Clint Settle (Rogers) and Sally Settle along with eight grandchildren, Noelle, Lucas, Brandt, Pierce, Warren, Adeline, Garrison and G.W.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by one son-in-law, Carroll Dean "Bo" Settle and two brothers, Joe Powell Moon and Bill Moon.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM on Monday, November 2, 2026 at Inman Mills Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at Inman Mills Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Holly Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by Boiling Springs Post 200.

The family would also like to express a very special thank you to Lakewood Assisted Living "for treating our father like family" and to the staff of Gentivia Hospice for all the love and care given to Mr. Moon. 

The family is at the home of his daughter, Jill Settle.
