Maxie Eugene Gowan

Mr. Maxie Eugene Gowan, 78, of 180 Gowan Road Inman died Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at Leconte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tn while on a trip to Pigeon Forge.

Mr. Gowan was born in Inman on July 17, 1932, the son of the late Clarence and Ethel Freeman Gowan.
He was the husband of Jane Kirby Gowan and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Landrum. After he attended Gramling High School he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Maxine Gowan of Inman, Rita Bruce and her husband Michael of Inman, a sister; Betty Burris and her husband Lane of Spartanburg and two granddaughters; Amy and Sarah Bruce both of Inman.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday 10:00-11:OOAM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 11:OOAM on Saturday, December 11th, conducted by Rev. Tommy Turner and Rev. Bill Pate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, PO Box 461 Spartanburg, SC 29304.
