Max Teague Henderson, 78, of 4 Jordan Street, Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Max was born in Franklin, NC on November 30, 1935, a son of the late Lester and Adeline (Teague) Henderson. He was the husband of Susan (Coley) Henderson and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Franklin, NC. Max retired from G & P Trucking and was formerly employed at WR Grace Logistics.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennie Terrell Stuart, three sons Max Henderson, Jr (Lee Ann), of Simpsonville; Phil Henderson, of Lyman; David Henderson (Judy), of Raleigh, NC; a step daughter, Elizabeth McAbee McElrath, two sisters, Jody Henderson, of Franklin, NC; Linda Morrow (Gene), of Franklin, NC; two brothers, Charles Henderson, of Franklin, NC; Conway Henderson, of Spartanburg, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Evan and Brooke McElrath. A memorial service will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 conducted by Rev Al Phillips.The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, P0 Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Skylyn Place for their love and care for Max for the last six years.
