Matthew Drayton " Matt " Carson, III, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota. Matt was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on February 28, 1968 , a son of Patricia Souther Carson and Matthew Drayton Carson II. Matt was married to Katie Duncan Carson.
Matt attended Clemson University, was a Member of Roebuck Baptist Church and was employed as a web designer for the Department of Administration for the State of Montana.
Matt is survived by his wife, Katie Duncan Carson; a daughter, Sarah Octavia Carson; two sons, Matthew Drayton Carson, IV and Deacon Cole Carson all of the home. Matt is also survived by his parents, Patricia Souther Carson of Greenville, South Carolina and Matthew Drayton Carson II and his wife Carol of Greenville, South Carolina; two brothers, Douglas Carson of Vienna, Virginia and Stephen Carson of Simpsonville, South Carolina; a sister, Patricia Carson of Greenville, South Carolina and a maternal grandmother, Mary Souther of Blackshear, Georgia.
Matt was predeceased by a daughter; Olivia Souther Carson.
Funeral Services will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Inman, South Carolina on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 2:00 PM, conducted by Dr. Tim Clark and Dr. Tim Williams.
A private family committal service will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road Spartanburg, South Carolina 29303.
The family is at the residence.
