Matilda Stewart Wofford Valentine

Matilda Stewart Wofford Valentine, 76, of 182 River Bluff Ext. passed away Friday, May 30th, 2008 . Mrs. Valentine was born in Jelico, Ky on February 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Marion and Lucy (Paul) Stewart. She was the widow of Melvin Valentine and was first married to the late Charles Edward Wofford. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Bailey of Campobello, Kathy Lawson and Becky Bryant both of Inman, two sons, Joe Wofford of Landrum, Mike Wofford of Inman, three sisters, Marvita Brown and Totsie Wright both of Inman, Jesse Bellew of Mississippi, four brothers, Bill Stewart of Campobello, Marion Stewart, Jr. and Don Stewart both of Tennessee and Charles Stewart of Inman, ten grandchildren, including Cindy Solesbee, Tracy Wofford and Dillon Gosnell who were raised in the home and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Roger and Tracy Wofford, three brothers, John, Walter and Ted Stewart, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 11 :00 A..M. on Monday, June 2nd, with Rev. Joe Steadman officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, S. C.
The family is at the home of Cindy Solesbee at 1090 Clark Rd. Inman and will receive friends on Sunday June 1, from 3-5 P.M. at Seawright Funeral Home.
