Mary Louise Sams Pitts, 78, of 416 Apple Valley Road Duncan, SC, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019, at Greenvillle Memorial Hospital. Mary was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 16, 1940, a daughter of the late Elbert and Glaudis Sams. She was the widow of Thomas Ralph Pitts, Sr. Mrs. Pitts was a retired employee from Alcoa Corporation and of the Baptist faith,
Mary is survived by a daughter, Terri Livingston, of Taylors, South Carolina; a son,Thomas Ralph Pitts, Jr.and his wife, Angie, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pitts is also survived by three sisters, Vickie Alverson, of Piedmont, South Carolina; Bobbie Cordell, of Piedmont, South Carolina; Jean Green, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two brothers, Frankie Sams, of Greenville, South Carolina and Eddie Sams, of Piedmont, South Carolina.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pitts was also predeceased by a sister, Judy Mahaffey.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina. Funeral Services will be conducted by Dr. Tim Clark at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Westwood Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The families are at their respective homes.
