Mary Barnette Kirby
Mrs. Mary Barnette Kirby, 97, of 63 Blackstock Road, Inman passed away Friday, June 10th, 2011 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.
Mrs. Kirby was born in Cedar Springs, SC on June 20, 1913, the daughter of the late Monroe and Alma (Goodwin) Barnette and was the widow of George Washington Kirby.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Nancy Jane Gowan, Lucretia Donnahoo (Jim), Frances Robinson (Eddie), all of Inman, Lois Harmon (Tex), Joyce Willis (Jerry), all of Campobello, 3 sons: Alton Ames (Beverly) of Georgia, Robert Kirby (Mary) of Campobello, Wayne Kirby (Kay) of Inman, 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 16 great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: George Washington Kirby, Jr and a daughter: Charlotte Kirby.
She was a homemaker and was formerly employed at Powell Knitting Mill, Raycord and Magnolia Manor of Inman. She was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church, Inman, SC.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends today 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM today, June 12th, with Rev. Mark Williams and Rev Tommy Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Springs Cemetery, Spartanburg, Sc.
