Mary Scales Horne

Inman, SC--Mrs. Mary Scales Horne, 104, of 63 Blackstock Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 10th, 2009. Born in Union on October 19, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Lizzie (Bailey) Scales and was the wife of the late Frederick Monroe Horne.
She was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Horne is survived by a son, Jacky Horne and wife Mary Workman Horne of Inman; two grandsons, Michael Horne and wife Jill of Greer and Bryan Horne and wife Renee of Lyman; one granddaughter, Marie Bracken and husband Chip of Wellford; six great-grandsons, Caleb Cooke, Bailey Horne, Justus Horne, Jayson Bracken, Harry Bracken and Trey Bracken and one great-granddaughter, Megan Miller. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. Sam Hammett officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer.
