Mary Laura Echols, 93, formerly of 8496 Dandelion Lane, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at White Oak Manor Spartanburg. Mary was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on September 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Walter H. and Annie Mae Jordan Echols. Mrs. Echols was a United States Army veteran of WWII, a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and a former owner and operator with Duncan 5 & Dime and later worked with Fast Fare Corporation. Mary is survived by two sisters, Frances Adams, of Union, South Carolina and Betty Kunze, of Beaufort, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Services are private at the convenience of family.
