Mary McNeely Dickson, 84, of Inman, SC passed away Monday, June 11th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Cherryville, NC on July 22, 1927, the daughter of the late Mamie Rich and Emerson McNeely and was the widow of James Ernest Dickson. .
She had worked as a beautician and was an active member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where she was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class, and was a Mobile Meals volunteer. She lived in Inman for the past twelve years since her husband's death, and prior to that she had lived in Hickory, NC where she was active at First Baptist Church of Hickory, was past president of the American Legion Post 48 Auxiliary, volunteered at the Soup Kitchen, and volunteered with the Blood Mobile.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Dickson Blanks and her husband Kevin of Moore, SC, a grandson, Adam Blanks of Roebuck, SC, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, J.D. McNeely.
The family will receive friends June 14, 2012, Thursday 10:00am until 11:OOam at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman at 11:OOam on Thursday, June 14th, with Rev. Jack Hames officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC Thursday at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inman Mills Baptist Church 22 B St Inman, SC 29349 or Mobile Meals PO Box 461 Spartanburg, SC 29304.
