Mary Anner Poteat Brown, 91, of 208 Westayer Heights, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at Upstate Community Hospice House, Landrum, South Carolina. Anner was born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, on October 12, 1929, a daughter of the late Royal Lee Poteat and Odessa Turner Poteat. She was the widow of Virgil Brown.
Anner was a retired employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing and a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church in Wellford, South Carolina.
Mrs. Brown is survived by three sisters, Geraldine Ford, of Campobello, South Carolina; Janie Dempsey and her husband, Marion, of Inman, South Carolina; Shirley Blackwell and her husband, Sam, of Lyman, South Carolina; and a brother, Jerry Drake and his wife, Carol, of Lyman, South Carolina. She is also survived by, a sister-in-law, Christine Drake of Inman, South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Little Mountain Baptist Church in Wellford, South Carolina, conducted by Rev. Doug Godfrey.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The families are at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Mountain Baptist Church 1302 Little Mountain Road, Wellford, South Carolina, 29385.
