Marvin Cecil Atkins, 71, of 82 North Main Street, Inman, SC, passed away Monday, February 18th, at Golden Age. Marvin was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 25, 1942, a son of the late Florence (Justice) and Horace Atkins. He was formerly employed at Juney White Exxon in Spartanburg, was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church and served in the South Carolina National Guard. Marvin is survived by two daughters, Pamela Atkins Brooks, of Spartanburg; Jennifer Atkins, of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Linda "Gerri" Osborne, of Inman; Mildred Campbell, of Lyman; Dorothy "Dot" Bozeman, of Raymore, MO; two brothers, Charles Atkins, of Inman; Bobby Wayne Atkins, of Spartanburg, 2 grandchildren, Shelby Brooks of Inman and Elijah Burns of Columbia. He was predeceased by 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, Campobello, at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 23rd, with Rev Michael Owenby officiating.The family will receive friends in the church from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seawright Funeral Home, PO Box 192, Inman, SC 29349 or Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, 8931 Hwy 11, Campobello, SC 29322.
