Martha Horton Waldrop
Martha "Mot" Horton Waldrop, 68, of Inman, SC, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 28th, 2014. Born in Inman on April 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late John and Bernice Cothran Horton and was the loving wife of Doug Waldrop. Martha worked as the lunchroom manager at Landrum High School for many years and for School District #5 in the after school children's ministry for 5 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church North Spartanburg and was very active in their preschool ministry for over 18 years. Martha had a strong love and concern for all children and especially the Chosen Children's Ministry in Nicaragua. Surviving in additon to her husband Doug is a daughter, Louan Waldrop Bujtor and her husband Stephen of Lyman, SC, a brother Johnny Horton and his wife Doris of Roebuck, SC and a sister Kay Horton Pack and her husband James of Inman. There are two grandchildren, Adam and Noah Bujtor. She was predeceased by two sisters, Daphne Horton Martin, Nan Cantrell and a brother Ray Horton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist North Spartanburg with Dr. Michael Hamlet, Rev. Ken Mayfield and Rev. Doug Turner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church vestibule. Interment will be private. The family is at their respective homes.
