Martha Blackwell

Inman, SC--- Martha Dempsey Blackwell, 86, of 5530 New Cut Rd. Inman, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Born in Greer, SC on August 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ressie (Cox) and Robert Lee Dempsey and was the wife of Mr. Olin D. Blackwell. She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she served in the Friendship Sunday School Class and was a retired cosmetologist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Levy and husband Ronald of Brooklyn, NY; a son, Mark Bradley and wife Peggy of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Mary Allred of Greenville, SC; four grandsons, Andrew and Steven Levy and Marc and Derek Bradley; and six great grandchildren, Tyra Gulledge, Hunter Bradley, Drue Lana Bradley, Karma Bradley , Devon Bradley and Talon Bradley.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January, 25, 2014 from 6:00-8:30PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2014 with Dr. Reggie Parker and Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Marshall Bryant, Tommy Atkins, Lamar Fowler, Dale Allred, Steve Frady, Dale Robinson, Alfred Holden and Michael Blackwell. Honorary Escorts will be the Friendship Sunday School Class of Holston Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC.
