Mrs. Martha Joyce Blackwell, 57, of 118 Fury Lane, Inman went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, January 2nd, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Blackwell was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 3, 1951, the daughter of the late Paul and Rosa Miller Shields.
She had worked as a nurse's aide and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Brown and her husband Gary of Inman, three brothers, Paul Shields and wife Alma of Inman, Jerry Shields and wife Kaye of Fingerville, James Shields and wife Debora of Inman, four sisters, Judy Randolph, Janice Billodeaux, Joan Dobbins, Jeannette Penfield all of Inman, and three grandchildren, Daniel Seay of the home, Dustin Duncan of Inman, and Chelsea Brown of Inman.
The family is at the home of her daughter at 436 Holden Road, Inman and will receive friends, today, Sunday, January 4,2009 from 3:00-5:00pm at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church at 2:00pm on Monday, January 5th, with Dr. David Duncan and Rev. Tommy Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Prince Memorial Gardens.
