Marshall Brock Roper

June 2, 1932 — December 27, 2013

Inman, SC--- Marshall Brock Roper, Sr, 81, of 151 Roper Road passed away Friday, December 27th, at Rosecrest. Born in Six Mile, SC on June 2, 1932, he was the son of the late Lydia (Carpenter) and John Spencer Roper. He was the husband of Aurelia (Burns) Roper of the home and was first married to Martha Gail Cromer Roper of Inman.

Mr. Roper was a graduate of Wofford College and served in the United States Army and was the owner/operator of Cromer's Abattoir for 57 year. He was a member of United Methodist Church of the Covenant.

He is survived by two sons, John William Roper and J. Stephen Roper both of Inman;one step-son, Chuck Robbins; one sister, Faith Couch of Columbia, SC along with eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by two sons, Marshall Roper, Jr. and Philip H. Roper; one grandson, Jason Roper and three brothers and five sisters.

Cryptside Services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2013 with Rev. Arthur Holt officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service at the cryptside.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of the Covenant ,9020 Asheville Hwy Spartanburg, SC 29316 or Lutheran Hospice. The family is at their respective homes.
