Marlyn Sherbert Broome, 67, of Peach Valley Circle, Spartanburg, wife of Tom Broome III, and mother of Jennifer Broome Ray (Gordon) and Jason Broome (Kerise) passed away peacefully after short illness Friday, April 8th, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, surrounded by her husband and children.
Marlyn was born in Spartanburg on July 18, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Marion and Ethel Sherbert. She was the grandmother of Matthew Broome, Krista Robbins, Jacob Ray, Ethan Ray, and Abbey Ray. She was the sister of Ray Sherbert (Jackie) and Faye Rigsby (Mike); and she was excited about the arrival of her great grandaughter, Finley Katherine Broome, who will arrive in September. Tom and Marlyn would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 16, 2016.
She had previously worked as a Human Resource Manager at Wise Foods and retired as Human Resource Manager at Sunland Distribution.
She was a faithful member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where she had been very active in The Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. She was also actively involved for many years with the Boiling Springs Booster Club and enjoyed attending games her children and grandchildren were participating in.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 11th, with Dr. Hank Williams and Rev. Bobby Lindsey officiating.
Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.
