Mark A. Mangum, November 9, 1956 - December 13, 2024, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness. Mark graduated from Severna Park High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and flight engineer with Patron 65 and P3 Orion aircrew squadron. After serving in the Navy, Mark graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Limestone College and served as an Army National Guard officer with the 178th Field Artillery Unit. Mark went on to retire from Smile Makers later Berkshire Hathaway but continued to work for Milliken Corp/Genric Security. Mark was a foodie who loved day trips and travel. He loved a good meal, a good laugh, and a good scotch. He appreciated all his friends at work and otherwise. Mark always had a joke and a smile for everybody. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, nephews, niece, co-workers and neighbors. Mark was thoughtful and generous and a burst of energy. He was preceded in death by both parents, Leonard J. Mangum Jr. and Marilyn K. Mangum, Mark was survived by a sister and three brothers. Elizabeth Manzilillo (Mt. Airy, Md.), Adam Mangum of the home (Boiling Springs, SC), Paul Mangum (Pam) (Spartanburg, SC), and Andrew Mangum (Jennifer) (Inman, SC) his nephews and niece, James Mangum, Benjamin Mangum, Amy Manzilillo, as well as his very close friends Miss Wanda Newton (Boiling Springs, SC) and Mr. Paul Lail (Columbus, OH). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Services and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetary, with military honors, at a later date.
