Marion Richard Varner, Sr. 68, of 163 Brannon Belcher Road, Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home.

Marion was born in Boiling Springs, SC on October 19, 1950, a son of the late Annie Lou (Owens) and James Horace Varner and was the husband of Nellie M. (Conley) Varner having celebrated 47 years of marriage. Mr. Varner served in the United States Army and worked as a truck driver for 45 years. He was a member of Spring of Grace Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, Marion is survived by a son, M. Richard Varner, Jr. (Kim), of Cowpens, South Carolina; a sister, Nancy Stephens (Charles), of Inman, South Carolina and two grandchildren, Holden Richard Varner and Peyton Lynn Varner and a special sister-in-law, Judy Wise of Aylett, Virginia. He was predeceased by a sister, Susie Stephens and a brother, Jerry Dean Varner.

A Memorial Service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home, 26 East Main Street, Inman, SC 29349 on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hobby Otten officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Spring of Grace Lutheran Church, 320 Holden Drive, Inman, SC 29349 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
