Marion Elmore Morris, 93, of 9 Orchard Lane, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Marion was born in Chesnee, South Carolina on March 11, 1924, a son of the late Starline "Jack" Balious Morris and Verdie Cash Morris. He was the husband of Mary Ruth Burrell Morris. Mr. Morris was first married to the late Ethel Wyatt Morris. He retired from Spartan Mills after 45 years of service and was member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Marion is survived by two daughters, Kathy Miller of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Shelia Braziel and her husband, Garry of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; a son, Jackie Morris and his wife, Jackie Lynn of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; a step-son, Mike Spakes and his wife, Kim of Georgia; a sister, Frances Johnson and her husband, Paul of Gaffney, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Mr. Morris was predeceased by a son, Roger Morris; a daughter, Betty Gregory; a grandson, Timmy Gregory; a stepson, Dan Spakes and nine siblings.
Visitation will be held at Seawright Funeral Home on Sunday, February 4, 2018, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Michael Owenby and Dr. Tommy Turner. Burial will follow at Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesnee, South Carolina. The family is at the residence.
