Marion Lee Dempsey

Marion Lee Dempsey, 74, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at TerrraBella Summit in Greenville, South Carolina.

Born in Holly Springs, South Carolina on September 24, 1952, a son of the late Ruby (Burnett) Dempsey and Daniel Dean Dempsey and was the husband of the late Janie Lou Dempsey.

He was self employed as a residential painter and was a member of Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by one brother, Donald Dempsey; one sister, Trish Murray; two step sons, Ronnie Shipman and Doug Shipman; one step daughter, Kathy Bradburn (Todd); two step grandchildren, Adam Bradburn and Tyler Bradburn; two nephews, Mark Dempsey adn Denny Dempsey and three nieces, Kim Brice (Chris), Stacey Shamis (Brian) and Cindy Dempsey.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by three brothers, Dennis Dempsey, John Dean Dempsey and Wayne Dempsey; one sister-in-law, Sue Dempsey and one brother-in-law, Steinar Murray.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Tim Clark officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Memorial donations in memory of Marion may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, South Carolina 29349.
