Marie Helena Melhuish Floyd-Nolen, 90, of Spartanburg died June 17, 2018. Born July 1927 in St. Augustine, Flordia, she was the daughter of the late Patra Ruth Zimmerman Melhuish and Joseph John Leonard Melhuish II. She was the widow of Mack Roy Floyd Jr. after 44 years of marriage and the widow of William Nolen. Helena graduated from Spartanburg High School and had retired from Milliken Research Corporation. Helena was an active member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church and of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her two sons and daughter, Mack R. "Pete" Floyd III (Johnnie) of Columbia, South Carolina, Joseph H. Floyd (Cheryl) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Tina S. Floyd of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Helena is survived by a sister Joy M. Frazier(Herb) of Apex, N.C. and a brother Leonard Melhuish of Gulfport, Mississippi. She was predeceased by a brother Reginald Melhuish.
Helena has five grandchildren (predeceased by a granddaughter) and four great grandchildren. She has many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00-10:50 AM at Cedar Spring Baptist Church with funeral services at 11:00 AM conducted by the Rev. Dr. Todd Lowe. Burial will follow at Cedar Spring Cemetery.
