 Marie Messer Blackwell, 80, of 1511 Holly Springs Road, Inman, SC, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at her residence.

Marie was born in Spartanburg, SC on September 8, 1942, a daughter of the late Annie Lee (Reaves) Messer and Marion Buck Messer. She was the wife of William Lee Blackwell.

She retired after 31 years as lunchroom manager at Chapman High School and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Darryl Blackwell (Alejandera), Michael Blackwell (Earlene), two sisters, Judy Higgins, Debbie Bailey, all of Inman and 1 step grandson, Daniel Garcia

The family is at her home and will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, June 2nd at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC 

Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 2nd at Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev Mark Fowler officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Ridings, Keith Conway, Steve Lawter, Alberto Rebollar, Nick Rebollar, Trent Carswell and Tommy Bradley, honorary pallbearers will be Randall Raines and Bill Ericsson.
