Marie Goforth Barrs

Inman, SC--- Marie Goforth Barrs, 75, of 1695 Dixon Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg Born in Spartanburg County on May 7, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Lon and Mae (Foster) Goforth. She was the widow of Willie Elmore Barrs and was first married to the late Joseph Brown. Mrs. Barrs was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Summerville, SC and worked as a seamstress at Star Brand. She is survived by a son, Steven Barrs of Gaffney, SC; one sister, Julia Ann Driggers and her husband Ernest of Cowpens, SC and a brother, Tommy Goforth and his wife Peggy of Inman, SC;five grandchildren, Corey Martin, Kayla Brook Robertson and her husband Clay, Audrey Marie Gass, Ashley Brown Dill and her husband Chris and Lindsay Brown Arcuri and her husband James; one great grandson, Conner Robertson and one great granddaughter, McKennon Dill. She was also predeceased by two daughters, Jannie Marie Brown and Wanda Susan Gass, one son, David Carroll Brown and one sister, Janet Kyzer. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2015 with Rev. Barry Looper officiating.
