Mrs. Margie Mae Reid Mitchem, 91, formerly of Inman, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, September 11th, 2011 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
Mrs. Mitchem was born in Greer on March 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mamie (Greene) Reid. She was the widow of Boyd Lee Mitchem and was a member of Inman First Freewill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Gene Mitchem of Wellford, Jerry Lee Mitchem and his wife Ann of Inman, three daughters, Norma Ann Barron and her husband Bobby of Inman, Linda Jay Spake of Gaffney, and Sherry Alane Bishop and her husband Roger of Chesnee. There are nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Roger Dale Mitchem.
Funeral services will be held at Inman First Free Will Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13th, 2011 with Revs. Sean Fortner, Earl Hendrix, and Chris Gulledge officiating.The family will receive friends Tuesday in the church sanctuary one hour before the services.
Interment will be in Ft. Prince Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes. An online guest register is available at: www.seawright-funeralhome.com .
