Margie Evington Collins

Mrs. Margie Evington Collins of 7011 New Cut Rd. went to be with her Lord Monday, August 10th, 2009 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, S.C.
Mrs. Collins was born in Spartanburg County and was the widow of James Lewis Collins. She was the daughter of the late William Jack and Carrie Elizabeth Gosnell Evington.
She had retired from the Raycord Corporation and was a homemaker. Mrs. Collins was a longtime member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and the Dorcas Co-Workers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by two daughters, Faye Mitchell and her husband Ed of Inman, Vicky Strange and her husband Dudley of Spartanburg, a son J. L. Collins and his wife Carol of Campobello, and a sister Fannie Mae Foster of Inman. The grandchildren include: Phillip Stevens, Gina Stevens Holcomb, Dwayne Collins, Todd Collins, James "Jeff " Collins, Lori Waldrop Barwick and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sisters and six brothers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 1 to 3 PM at Holston Creek Baptist Church followed by the funeral services at 3:00 PM conducted by Rev. Reggie Parker and Rev. Henry Coley. Serving as pallbearers will be: Phillip Stevens, Kyle Collins, Todd Collins, James "Jeff " Collins, Ken Holcomb, Nicholas Barwick, Ronnie Strange, and Todd Gilbert. The Winsome/ Dorcas Co-Workers Sunday School Class are to serve as Honorary Escort. Entombment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Special thanks to her loving caretakers, Carolyn Gary, Arbelene McDonald, Jessie Styles and Connie Jackson and also to her faithful friends, Pearl Suddeth, Louise Shipman, Barbara Smith, Edna and Lloyd Mathis and Isaac Bryant. The family will be at the home of Faye and Ed Mitchell, 151 Grandview Dr., Inman, SC 29349
