Mrs. Margaret Raines Metcalf

Mrs. Margaret Raines Metcalf, 81, of 207 Canady Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27th, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Spartanburg County on December 23, 1927, she was the wife of Talmadge H. Metcalf for 62 years and the daughter of the late Tolliver and Ola (Owens) Raines.

Mrs. Metcalf was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Winsome Sunday School Class. Before her marriage she worked as a beautician.

She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and kept her faith in His will for her life until the end. She is now with Him.

In addition to her husband Talmadge, she is survived by one daughter Maureen King and her husband Don of Spartanburg; two sons, Julian Metcalf and his wife Beth of Wellford and Neal Metcalf of Wellford; six grandchildren, Keilah Metcalf Nettles, Jennifer Metcalf Tousey, Micah Metcalf, PJ Metcalf, Phillip King, Hannah Metcalf and three great grandchildren, Samuel Metcalf Tousey, Charlotte Ruth Tousey and Baby Claire Metcalf due in July. She was predeceased by one son, Phillip Metcalf. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 1 , with Rev. Reggie Parker and Thomas Brannon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
