Margaret Ann Shirley Knight

Margaret Ann Shirley Knight, 90, of Wellford, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Ashlan Village.

Born in Pickens, South Carolina on January 15, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Fannie Wallace (Brown) Shirley and James Patrick Shirley.

Mrs. Knight worked as a telephone operator at Bell South from 1954-1994 and was a member of Church at the Mill Lake Cooley. She was a member of the AT&T Telephone Pioneers and was a member of the Roebuck Eastern Star. 

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Collins and her husband Dart and Kimberly Hall-Stevens and her husband Michael; three grandchildren, Justin Salley, Jennifer Salley Maroon and her husband Eddie and Tyler Hall and his wife McKenzie; three great grandchildren, Brantley Hall, Bristol Hall and Braxton Hall along many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by five siblings, Edna Edwards, Martha Thompson, Hattie Sue Shirley, Wallace Shirley and Becky Barfield. 

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC with Mr. Dart Collins and Mr. Ben Barfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
