Laurens, SC---Mrs. Margaret Vera Nodine Gowan, 86, of 379 Pine Haven Ext., Laurens passed away Monday, November 9th, 2009 at National Healthcare in Laurens, SC
Mrs. Gowan was born on April 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew Joseph and Elizabeth (Jones) Nodine. She was the widow of Paul J Gowan, a homemaker and a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church, Inman, SC.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Linda Cothran and husband Bobby of Cross Hill, SC, Paulette Barnette and husband Roger of Cross Hill, 2 brothers: Hubert Nodine of Lafayette, TN, Dr Herman Nodine of Rutherfordton, NC, 4 sisters: Faye Hicks Page of Greer, Era Barnette of Inman, Frances Phillips of Columbus, NC, Nancy Burrell of Lynn, NC, 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth Barnette Pruitt and husband Marc, Andrew (Drew) McCutcheon, April Barnette Willis and husband Tommy, 4 great-grandchildren: Calleigh and Marlie Pruitt, Jared and Hannah Willis and several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: James and Joe Nodine and sisters: Ruth, Dorothy and Myrtle Nodine and Polly Erskine.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 11 at 11:00 AM at the Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC with Rev. Reggie Parker and Dr. Herman Nodine officiating.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
