Margaret Christine Howell Brown, 101, of 2600 Highway 357, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Pelham Medical Center, in Greer, South Carolina. Margaret was born in Lyman, South Carolina, on October 22, 1915, a daughter of the late James Walter Howell and Minnie Lee Henson Howell. She was the widow of Shuford "Shorty" Mayfield Brown. Mrs. Brown was a retired employee from Homelite Company and of the Baptist faith.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Sue Sellars, of Inman, South Carolina; a son ,Mayfield Brown, and his wife, Ruthie, of Inman, South Carolina; a sister, Carolyn Zimmerman, of Inman, South Carolina; three grandsons, Zeke Sellars, Bruce Brown and Morris Brown; five great-granddaughters, Kaylee Sellars, Kinzie Sellars, Lottie Brown, Lila Brown, Rosie Brown; a nephew, Tim Ponder and a niece, Ann Greene.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was predeceased by a daughter, Alice Brown; a grandson, Mike Sellars; a son-in-law, Leroy Sellars and a sister, Thelia Ponder.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, South Carolina, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, conducted Dr. Tim Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be the following: Zeke Sellars, Tim Baum, Bruce Brown, Morris Brown, Ballard Brown and Kenneth Brown.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family is at the residence.
