Marcia Kay Wall Gowan, 64, of Inman, South Carolina went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Kay was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Kay was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on May 21, 1956, daughter of the late Floy (Thomason) Wall and Raymond Foster Wall. She was the wife of Nolan La-Ray Gowan.
Kay graduated from Boiling Springs High School, Class of 1974. She earned her RN degree from USCS, Class of 1977 and began her nursing career at Spartanburg General Hospital. Later, Kay worked at Mary Black Hospital and ended her working years at Roger Huntington Nursing Home in Greer, South Carolina.
In the face of declining health and reduced mobility over the years, Kay never once wavered in her faith and continued to seek out Jesus with every waking moment. She was steadfast in her love of God, her husband, Nolan, and her family.
In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by a sister, Rhonda Wall Madden Williams and husband, Mark, of Eatonton, Georgia; nephews- Matthew Madden and wife, Sarah, of Eatonton, Georgia; Joseph Madden and wife, Anne-Catherine, of Decatur, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina.
Graveside Services will follow at 3:30 PM on Friday, May 14th at the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Wellford, South Carolina with Rev. Doug Godfrey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Mountain Baptist Church, 1302 Little Mtn Road, Wellford, SC 29385.
