Marcella Opfer
Marcella Stella Opfer, 75 of Taylors, South Carolina passed away Saturday November 6, 2021 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Marcella was born in Hennessey, Oklahoma on November 10, 1945. She was the daughter of Joseph and Clara Hladik. She was one of eight children.
She married David Opfer on July 26, 1969. They lived in Cape Cod, Massachusetts where they started their family. They then moved to Houston, Texas. After a few years in Texas, they moved to Drummond, Oklahoma where they stayed for 32 years. Their final move was to Taylors, South Carolina where she lived out the remainder of her life.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara Hladik; grandson Garrett Opfer; brother William Hladik; sister Martha Yeatman.
Marcella is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Opfer, and three children, Brenda Klotz (Wayne), Tammie Thompson (Matt), Matthew Opfer (Leigh). Seven grandchildren, David Klotz, Grace Howard (Ben), Christy Parsons (Justin), Erin Thompson, Josie Opfer, Aubree Opfer, and Kali Opfer. Five siblings Margaret Reeves, Clarance Hladik, Wenceslaus Hladik, Marie White, and Joseph Hladik; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marcella loved spending time with her family, working in her flower garden, and watching birds. She was a loving and devoted wife and an amazing mother and grandmother.
Marcella was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held by the family on November, 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Stable Life Worship Center, 520 Blue Ridge Street, Inman, SC 29349
