Mamie Rhoda Brown Atkins, 88, of Gowensville, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
Born in Woodruff, South Carolina on October 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Eunice (Casey) Brown and John Coy Brown and was the wife of the late Marvin Ivo Atkins.
She was a graduate of Cecil's Business College, owner/operator of Atkins and Sons and was a member of First Baptist Gowensville.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jean Turner (Keith) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two daughters-in-law, Heather Zoe Taylor Atkins and Susan Hall Atkins; seven grandchildren, Rhetta West (Eric), Jacob Coy Atkins (Anna), Joseph Atkins (Nathan), Casey Atkins (Olena), Jeanna Lynn Turner, Alena Martinez (Victor) and Mamie Simmons (Bryson) along with seven great-grandchildren, Iris West, Lillian Atkins, Allison Atkins, Seth Atkins, Anya Atkins, Andy Atkins and Jackson Turner.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by two sons, Michael Coy Atkins and Joey Marvin Atkins and one brother, Carlton (Dick) Brown.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at First Baptist Gowensville with Rev. Josh Phillips and Rev. Chad Rickenbaker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow after the committal in the church.
The body will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 for public viewing.
