Mae Ellen Emory
Mae Ellen Evans Emory, 87, of 82 North Main Street Inman, SC, and formerly of Lyman, SC passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Golden Age in Inman. Mae was born in Spartanburg County, SC on May 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Jessie (Duffie) Evans and Jesse Clayton Evans. She was the widow of Boyce Lee Emory. She retired from Lyman Restaurant and also worked at Wellford Baptist Church where she attended. Mae is survived by a daughter, Donna Jackson (Tommy), of Lyman; a son, Carol Emory (Sherry), of Inman; a sister, Shirley Cantrell (Ed), of Wellford; four brothers, Ralph Evans (Louise), of Wellford; Floyd Evans (Judy), of Wellford; Russell Evans (Nancy), of Greer; Phil Evans (Cindy), of Spartanburg and her special friend, Maxine Strickland. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Mark L Jackson (Dr. Allison Jackson), Brandy E Parker (Dr. Matt Parker), Morgan J Stratton (Chris), Clay Emory (Laura), five great grandchildren, Emory Stratton, Emma Parker, Bowman Jackson, Mary Ella Emory, and Griffin Jackson. She was predeceased by two sisters, Bobbie Huckabee and Ruth Parham, and two brothers, Stephen Evans and Dennis Evans. A graveside service will be held at Wellford Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23rd, with Dr. Reggie Parker and Dr Tim Clark officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
