Mabel Rebecca (Trammell) Boozer, 95, longtime resident of Inman, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 , at Hospice of Laurens County in Clinton, SC. She had been a resident of Langston House Assisted Living in Clinton, SC.
Mrs. Boozer was born in Laurens County, SC on June 7, 1917 and was the daughter of the late John King and Carrie Estelle (Penland) Trammell . She was the widow of William Luther Boozer and was a homemaker. Mrs. Boozer was an avid fisher-woman who preferred fishing over almost anything. She also loved gardening, quilting, cooking and dancing.
Survivors include her three sons, Martin Boozer and his wife Mabel of Joanna, SC, Toney Boozer of Marietta, SC, Rick Boozer and his wife Julie of Greer, SC, a daughter, Lynn Eason and her husband Bart of Cumming, Ga, 10 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Betty Miller , Joyce McDaniel and two sons, Paul K. Boozer and Oliver Glenn Boozer. Her family said that their mother treated each child and her grandchildren as if each were the only one she had. Mrs. Mabel was truly the matriarch of her family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by the Rev. Adam Powers. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: Hospice of Laurens County, 1304 Springdale Dr., Clinton, SC 29325 The family will return to their respective homes.
