Mary Doyle Childers Cheek, 85, of 1241 John Dodd Road died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her home. She was born in Greer, S.C. November 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Henry Beachum Childers and Mary Ellen Norman Childers. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She was the wife of J.W. Bill Cheek of the home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons; Sammy (Kathy) Cheek of Florence, Jim (Nancy) Cheek of Spartanburg, a brother, Ray Childers, son-in-law Jan Smith, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters; Suzanne Cheek Feger and Mary Lynn Cheek Smith, and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Monty King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cemetery Fund of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mt. Zion Road Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
