Loyd Nelson Pruitt

Loyd "Poppy" Pruitt of Orchard Lane, husband of Micki Pruitt was taken home to Jesus by the angels on February 6, 2013. Mr Pruitt was born in New Prospect on December 11, 1929, the son of the late Ernest "Buster" and Elvie Evington Pruitt. He retired as owner of Pruitt's Body Shop, was a member of the Beaumont Masonic Lodge , a former stock car driver and a member of Inman First Baptist Church.
Mr Pruitt was a beloved father to Barbara Alexander whose husband is Donnie, Brenda Fleming whose husband is Michael and Ronnie Pruitt and Judy Pruitt Roberts. Other survivors include five sisters, Earline Ballenger, Dorothy High, Mildred Page, Marcelle West, Doris Eubanks, brother-in-law, Charlie McLeod and wife Ramona of Florida. He was lovingly called "Poppy" by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Chuck McGraw and two brothers, James Pruitt and Raymond Pruitt. The family is at his home and will receive friends, Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in the Atrium of Inman First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary conducted by Dr Paul Moore and Rev Jeremiah Childers. Mausoleum entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Inman First Baptist Church, 14 North Howard Street, Inman, SC 29349.
