Louise Gaylor Hibbard

LOUISE GAYLOR HIBBARD died January 8, 2008 at Rosecrest, Inman, SC. She was born in 1908 in Plum Branch, SC, and was the daughter of Eugene and Daisy Langley. She graduated from Winthrop and taught school in NC and SC. She married Walter Hayes Gaylor who died in 1969. She was a nursery supervisor during World War II, teacher, partner, and bookkeeper with her husband Walter in ownership of Western Auto for over 25 years. She was a faithful and loyal member of Inman United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She was the organizer and charter member of The Guild of Inman Methodist Church, served on the board, many committees, and was an honorary member of the Board. She was a charter member of Better Homes and Garden Club, and member of Retired Teacher Association of Spartanburg County. In 1979, she married Gilbert Reid Hibbard, who predeceased her. She is survived by one son, Robertson Hayes Gaylor of Paris, France; one daughter, Gwen Gaylor Gramling and her husband Ben, of Gramling, SC; and one step-son, Mark Hibbard of Dallas, TX. She was predeceased by one step-son, Paul Hibbard. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ben Martin Gramling, III, and his wife Robin, of Charleston, SC; and Clara Gramling Chambers, and her husband Rufus, of Atlanta, GA and one step-granddaughter Cecelia Hibbard Knight and her husband Mark of Spartanburg. She is also survived by five great grand children; Ben Martin Gramling, IV, Phillip Hayes Gramling, and Robertson Lane Gramling of Charleston, SC; and Rufus Adair Chambers, III, and Gwendolyn Adair Chambers of Atlanta, GA; and two step-great grandchildren Jackson and Amelia Grace Knight of Spartanburg. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends at Gramling United Methodist Church Social Hall Thursday, January 10, 2008 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. Condolences may be mailed to the family at Box 45, Gramling, SC 29348. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman United Methodist Church, 27 Bishop Street, Inman, SC 29349. Seawright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 1 Cor., 2:9, but just as it is written "things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not entered the heart of man all that God has prepared for those who love Him."
