Louise Bell

Louise Norris Bell, 97, of Magnolia Manor in Inman, South Carolina, died Friday, May 14 after a long period of declining health.
Native of Huntsville, Alabama, she had resided in Asheville, North Carolina, for 50 years with her husband, the late Austin Hines Bell. She was the youngest daughter of Walter Robert Norris and Frances Breedlove Norris, of Huntsville, Alabama. She was a member of Groce United Methodist Church in Asheville.
Mrs. Bell held a management position with the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild for many years and was considered an authority on traditional crafts of the Appalachian region. In her earlier years, she was employed as a tax consultant.
Surviving are a son and daughter, Dr. Norris H. Bell of Pawleys Island, and Amy Bell Hatley of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Also surviving are a grandson, Adam D. Hatley of Nashville, Tenn., a granddaughter, Kristen B. Tracy, of Fletcher, North Carolina, two great granddaughters Paxton Mallory Tracy and Fallon Quinn Tracy, and daughter-in-law Carolyn C. Bell.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Green Hills Cemetery in West Asheville conducted by Dr. David Sutton of Nazareth Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg. The family will receive friends at graveside following the service. In lieu of floral tributes, memoriams may be offered to the children's programs at Groce United Methodist Church, 954 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805 or to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, P.O.
