Louis Marcella Watson

Louis Marcella Watson, 91, of 111 Watson Road, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Valley Falls Terrace. Louis was born in Anderson County, SC on August 5, 1924, a son of the late Oliver Marcella and Alma (Cartee) Watson. He was the husband of Sara Kathleen (Belcher) Watson having celebrated 73 years of marriage on March 12, 2016. He retired from the SC Highway Patrol after 34 years of service and was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church in Spartanburg and formerly was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by a daughter, Becky Watson, a son, Sam Watson (Pam), of Greenwood. Louis is also survived by a brother Claude Watson of Murrell's Inlet, SC and two sisters Peggy Thompson of Easley and Emily Brown of Calhoun Falls, SC, 7 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rachel Marcell Ivey. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 PM conducted by Rev. Jack Dodds and Rev Ronnie Norris. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Homestead Hospice, 109 Laurens Road, Building One, Greenville, SC 29607.
