Lola Jeane Wichers Heys, 76, of 365 Loop Road, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Lola was born in Maurice, Iowa on June 5, 1942, and formerly lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a daughter of the late Garrett Wichers and Margaret Popma Wichers, and was formerly married to Kenneth F. Heys. Mrs. Heys was a member of the Unity Reformed Chuch in Kentwood, Michigan. She was a retired commercial baker after 30 years, but her true love and passion was baking and decorating all kinds of cakes from her home.
Lola is survived by a son, Scott A. Heys and his fiance, Etsuko "Amy" Kagawa, of San Francisco, California, three daughters, Shawna L. Shane and her husband, Todd, of Belmont, North Carolina; Paula F. Heys, of Campobello, South Carolina, Tammy S. Craig and her husband, Brent, of New Castle, Kentucky, a grandson, Taylor Shane and granddaughter, Shelby Craig.
Lola is also survived by four brothers, Marlan Wichers and his wife, Darlene, of Orange City, Iowa; Myron Wichers and his wife, Bonnie, of Miles City, Michigan; Leon Wichers and his wife, Lois, of Sioux Center, Iowa; Robert Wichers and his wife, Wanda, Of Orange City, Iowa; two sisters, Betty Pott and her husband, Frank, of Parkersburg, Iowa and Alma Engeltjes and her husband, Donald, of Orange City, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heys was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Zublis; Joyce Siemonsma; and three brothers, Russell, Donald and Allen Wichers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at the funeral chapel, conducted by, Rev. Sean Fortner.
Committal services will be private.
