Campobello, SC---Lois Louise Edmonds Melton, 93, of 9636 Hwy 9, Campobello, SC, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at her residence. Lois was born in Inman, S.C. on February 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Oscar Sheldon and Bessie (Gosnell) Edmonds. She was the widow of Jonas Anthony Melton, a homemaker and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Lois is survived by two sons Bruce Melton (Donna), Furman Melton (Phyllis), two sisters, Inez Culbreth, Bessie Mae Quinn, son-in-law, Robert Cantrell, grandchildren: Allan Cantrell (Mary), Michael Cantrell (Cathy), Pam Rosborough (Chris), Jennifer Mabry (Tony), Tiffany Wood (Josh), Amber Edmonds (James), great grandchildren: Adam Page (Summer), Jessica Bren (Scott), Brandon Mabry, Lilliana Mabry, Bradley Mabry, Joshua Rosborough, Daniel Rosborough, Daniel Wood, Mason Cantrell, Autumn Edmonds, Anthony Wood, and great, great grandchildren: Mariah Buchanan and Carter Page. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Melton Cantrell, a sister, Dovie Underwood and a brother, W.T. Edmonds. The family is at the home and will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 — 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church, Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 29th, with Rev Matthew Bishop and Rev Dick Keller officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
