Lois Shelton Collins, 89, formerly of 163 Innview Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Lake Emory Post Acute Care surrounded by her family. Lois was born in Spartanburg County on September 22, 1927, a daughter of the late James Cecil Shelton and Maude Pack Shelton. She was the widow of Carl Blaine Collins. Mrs. Collins was a member of Inman First Freewill Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a Christian homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Collins is survived by two daughters, Sandy Brzowski, of Sarasota, Florida; Barbara Switzer and her husband Dennis, of Roebuck, South Carolina; six sons Carl Wayne Collins and his wife Cathy, of Inman, South Carolina; Jimmie Ray Collins and his wife Sandy, of Inman, South Carolina; Ron Collins and his wife Cherrie, of Olney, Maryland; Bruce Allen Collins, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Donnie Collins and his wife Sherry, of Inman, South Carolina; Steve Collins and his wife Sheila, of Inman, South Carolina; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Bradley and her husband Charles, of Inman, South Carolina; Judy Jones, of Inman, South Carolina; a brother, James Shelton, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Martha Shelton of Inman, South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by, a granddaughter Melissa Collins Blackston; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Collins; a son-in-law, Ken Brzowski and a brother Glenn Shelton
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Inman First Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Inman First Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Sean Fortner and Rev. Earl Hendrix. Burial will follow at the Inman Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the following: Matthew Heath, Ron Settle, Steven Collins, Timmy Collins, Mark Collins, Andrew Collins, Chris Collins, Landon Collins and Noah Collins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Inman First Freewill Baptist Church, 90 Blackstock Rd., Inman, SC 29349.
The family is at the home of a son and daughter-in-law; Carl Wayne and Cathy Collins, 163 Innview Drive, Inman, South Carolina 29349.
