Lisa Ann Corl (Simmons), 60, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Lisa was born in Lansing, Michigan on May 20, 1961, raised in Rodney, and graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1979. She was the daughter of the late George R. Simmons and Doris (Cornelius) Hanson.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Corl of Inman, South Carolina; her three children, Kacie Lynn Bennett, Alex Isaiah Bennett and wife Courtney, and Kyle David Bennett and wife Marisela; three siblings, William "Bill" Simmons and wife April, Edson "Bruce" Simmons, and Teresa Euvrard and husband Steve; and eight grandchildren, Ethyn Bennett, Annalisse Bennett, Brenden Bennett, Lillian Bennett, Isaiah Bennett, Lucas Linman, Arianna Bennett, and Isaac Bennett.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her stepfather Clyde Hanson, her brother Robert "Bob" Simmons, her grandparents Myra and Edson Cornelius, and Dorothy and Wilber Curtis.
Shortly after High School, she married and had 3 children; Kacie, Kyle and Alex Bennett. She took great pride in her early years of motherhood. She made every holiday memorable, and always had creative ways of making everyone feel special. As a stay at home mom, she would often pick up serving jobs to make ends meet – she was very good at doing both. She was a lover of history, books, antiques, collecting angels, and loved talking about her faith. One of her favorite pastimes was to visit new places and write poetry about her experiences. Her music taste was broad and diverse. She was a lover of the mountains, traveling, wildflowers, the sea and sunsets. Her laughter was truly unique and contagious.
There will be no services. She requested to be cremated, and have her ashes spread at various places that were special to her. Her life will be celebrated by her family and friends with a Celebration of Life gathering.
