Lillian Buchanan Towery, "Nana", 88, of 11 B Street, Inman, SC, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Golden Age in Inman. Lillian was born in Inman, SC on May 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Thula (Jackson) and Wade T Buchanan, Sr. She was the widow of Lewis Franklin Towery, having celebrated 57 years of marriage. She retired from Eckerd Drugs at the age of 77. She was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Fidelis Matrons Sunday school class. She also volunteered for the March of Dimes and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Inman Volunteer Fire Departrment, Inman Post #45 American Legion Women's Auxiliary, the Hoe and Hope Garden Club and the Inman Junior Women's Club. She used her talents as a decorator and crafts person to serve all of these organizations.
Lillian is survived by two daughters, Gloria Coleman (Keith), of Inman, Mary Lee Rollins (Mark), of Inman; a brother, Wade T Buchanan, Jr. (Buck), of Canton, GA., four grandchildren, Jennifer Fortner, Josh Coleman, JoAnna Rollins, Molly Rollins ( fiance' Michael "Bubba" Owens), three great grandchildren, Josie Fortner, Jordan Fortner, Drew Coleman and "Her Buddy", Frodo. She was predeceased by her sister, Grace B Tuck. The familiy is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday, December 30th from 1:30 -3:00 PM at the Inman First Baptist Church Atrium. Funeral Services will be held at Inman First Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30th, with Dr Paul Moore and Rev Harold King officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In addition to flowers memorials may be made to the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation, 20 Park Plaza, Suite 478 Boston, MA 02116. The family is at her home.
