Lillian Chavis Ostrem, 77, of Magnolia Manor, Inman, went home to be with the Lord on December, 31, 2009.
She was born in North Carolina on May 16, 1932. Lillian enjoyed singing, gardening and reading her Bible, which she read daily for 40 years.
Other than her parents, Alex Rowlen Chavis and Lillian Goins Chavis, Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Ostrem; one son Steven Alex Ostrem; two sisters, Eula Ostrem and Christine Boivin; five brothers, Bill, Charles, Rowlen, Lawrence and Howard Chavis.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Teresa Ann Ostrem; eight sisters, Mary Henry of Berkley Springs,WV, Myrtle Chisholm of Placentia, CA, Queen Martindale and Dotty (Buddy)Byrd of Columbia, SC, Elva (Dan)Wilson of Irmo, SC, Ruth (Buddy) Alexander and Martha (Lewis, Sr.) Rosman of Inman, SC, Jeanette (Herbert) Foster of Campobello, SC; two brothers, Jimmy Chavis and Johnnie (Lynn) Chavis of Campobello, SC; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday, January 16 at Boiling Springs Church of God, 131 Peachtree Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. To be followed by a memorial service at 2:00 with Rev. Michael Coward officiating.
