Elbert Leroy Sellars, 75, of 140 Sellars Drive, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at his residence. A native of Spartanburg County, Leroy was born on July 15, 1941, a son of the late Elbert Roy Sellars and Daphnee Henderson Sellars. He was the husband of Sue Brown Sellars. Leroy was a United States Air Force veteran. He was the former owner and operator of Ride, Sale and Lease Company and Avid Laboratories. Leroy was a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class at Holly Springs Baptist Church, where he also was a former deacon.
Mr. Sellars is survived by his wife, Sue Brown Sellars of the home; a son, Zeke Sellars and Tim Baum of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Terry Sellars of Inman, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Kaylee Sellars and Kinzie Sellars both of Inman, South Carolina; mother-in-law, Margaret Brown of Lyman, South Carolina; two sisters, Ruth Hughey of Greenville, South Carolina; Carolyn Sellars of Sarasota, Florida; and many friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by: a son, Michael Sellars; a brother, Lionel Sellars; three sisters, Mildred Lindsey, Betty Ballew and Vicki Gravel.
Visitation will be held, Friday, November 25, 2016, from 3:00 PM until 4:15 PM at the Christian Life Center at Holly Springs Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 4:30 PM, conducted by Dr. Tim C. Clark and Rev. Henry Stanford. The following will serve as pallbearers: David Wall, Todd Johnson, Marion Dempsey, Andy West, James Agnew and Roger Rojas. The Good Samaritan Sunday School Class at Holly Springs will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Backpack Ministry at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349.
The family is at the residence.
