Leon Stacey

Roy "Leon" Stacey, 73, of Wilkins Road, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Knoxville, TN. A native of Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Leroy and Lela (Oliver) Stacey.

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and retired as an engineer from Norfolk Southern after 25 years and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cooley Stacey, which was the love of his life for 41 years, two daughters, Kay Crowe of Anderson, South Carolina and Jessica Grna and husband Greg of Gaffney, South Carolina, one son, Garvin Stacey of Campobello, SC; four grandchildren, the love of his life, Katie DeZern raised in the home, Brittany, Corey and Josey; one brother, Dean Stacey and wife Shirley of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; two sisters, Linda Jolley and husband Charlie of Rutherfordton, North Carolina and Betty Skipper and husband Larry of Cross Hill, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased in death by one brother, Larry Stacey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. John C. Pruitt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
